OUR STRATEGY
LIFT HIGH the name of Jesus
"And I, when I am high and lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself." (John 12:32)
BUILD UP the body of Christ
"And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-12)
SEND OUT to make disciples
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
Our Pastor
Pastor Walt Barnes is originally from Mantachie, MS. Walt earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi (B.A. in Elementary Ed.) and his Masters from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A. in Biblical Studies Greek New Testament). Walt has served in ministry in many capacities. Most recently, he was the Director of the Baptist Student Union at Northwest Mississippi Community College. Also, he previously served on staff at NPBC as the Associate Pastor. He and his wife Catherine were married in 2005 and they have two daughters, Izzy and Lottie.
Walt is passionate about biblical preaching and seeing other love God’s Word. He enjoys visiting museum and theme parks. Walt also loves college sports.
